The bane of every teacher’s life. If I had a pound (or even a penny) for every time I’ve corrected one of these I’d be writing this blog from Barbados. Unfortunately I haven’t and I’m in the rather damp and dreary Midlands, but hey ho. At least I’ve stumbled across what I think is a rather effective way for the students to remember them:

 

There = T + Here = location

Their = The + I = I belong to someone

They’re = They are (of course)

 

I’ll see if this reduces my correction rate and get saving for Barbados.
